Kit List

The event has been designed be as accessible as possible, with the event organisers providing double sit-on-top kayaks, paddles, buoyancy aids and all safety equipment/cover (please do not bring your own boats / paddling equipment as you will not be able to use it). However dressing appropriately is the participant's responsibility.

We recommend that you check the weather forecast two to three days prior to the event and dress appropriately (warm / cold weather gear). Below is a recommended kit list:

  • Running Shoes1
  • Splash Vest2
  • Water Bottles/Hydration System3
  • Shorts/leggings
  • Short/Long Upper body base layer
  • Hat / Cap
  • Sun Cream
  • Small Rucksack4
  •
  1. You will be running cross-country (off-road) and wearing shoes whilst kayaking so please bring along a pair that you do not mind getting wet.
  2. A splash vest will provide you with added protection from sea spray and wind.
  3. There will be two water stations on the course (kayak / run transition zones) however we recommend you bring along your own water as you will not have access to drinking water whilst on the water (this is particular important for the Horsey Island Circumnavigation).
  4. A small rucksack is useful for carrying spare layers, splash vest, water and food.
